Would like to see any additional info on this subject anyone might have (can't believe there wasn't an article on this before!), especially on the contents and other particulars of parcels sent during World War I (as opposed to WW II, which we seem to have plenty of info on!). Parcels to flood victims in New Orleans

What about these parcels? I thought it very odd at the time that they were flown across the Atlantic all the way from Britain. If they were some other kind of parcel or ration they deserve a mention or a link. 92.15.30.71 (talk) 19:55, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Parcels for Axis POWs?

The article is silent about parcels for Axis POWs during World War 2. Were any delivered? Comet Tuttle (talk) 01:50, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

I wasn't able to find anything to indicated that any were delivered to them, and I found this puzzling. Perhaps this was prevented by the Allies, or perhaps the Red Cross decided that their rations in Allied POW camps were adequate and thus that they didn't need the parcels--but this is pure conjecture. I did learn that Red Cross parcels were denied to Axis POW's immediately after the war by order of Gen. Eisenhower; however, I wasn't able to learn a specific reason for his decision.
