market removel discussion

Hello

I think that the mention of the market is useful because one of the main uses of the bridge area till then had been by market traders and the removal of the market was not just an event of media interest, by reducing public transport to the bridge it also had a practical effect for travellers of making the border crossing a little more awkward.

I am not sure why it is necessary to remove this section which has also been important enough to gain a certain amout of media attention (see references)

Is it the bridge he refers in his travelog? The Travels of Sir John Chardin, 1689, p. 239; river Tabadi = Debeda, Google maps shows this river at the spot. Cupri-kent may be the azerbaijani körpü kənd. Ceciliawolf (talk) 04:51, 6 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
