This article is great, would a contributor like to submit a Good Article Nomination?

I found this page while involved in a discussion on Bluesky where recommender systems came up. It's really informative and I wondered if someone who has contributed to it would like to nominate it for Good Article status? I'm pretty new to wikipedia so not too familiar with the process, but it looks like the nomination typically comes from a contributor, or at least requires the consent of significant contributors. I was under the impression that all recommender systems are forms of AI. When I took Andrew Ng's machine learning class, he did a whole unit on recommender systems. Even Hand-tagged content-based systems are symbolic / knowledge based AI.
If I'm right, I think it should mention AI in the lede and the section with "AI" in the title should be folded into the section that describes types of systems. ---- CharlesTGillingham (talk) 09:46, 8 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

The article needs to cover criticism of recommender systems. Including
content moderation issues: the way asome algorithms have promoted objectional content such as extreme partisanship, conspiracy theories, nazism, racism.
creator issues: how the algorithm has unlimited power to control who gets promoted, and creators have suffered under changes in the algorithm
addiction issues: how recommender systems have been designed to maximize engagement and thus are "addiction machines" which have caused harm to relationships, society, and occasionally severe psychological harm (cf. recent March 2026 court cases)

Concerns were raised previously about AI-generated content in a section of this article. This is a procedural talk page section to discuss it. There is no need to ping me in response. Read WP:AISIGNS for more information for why this is tagged; however, note that fixing the issue requires more than just removing the superficial signs. Rationale: this August 2025 edit; note WP:AISIGNS in promotional tone, vocab distro typical of 2024-25 LLM text, etcGnomingstuff (talk) 01:18, 20 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
