Should the references in this article perhaps be converted to footnotes? Also, what about the Grove references... it doesn't seem useful to me to put them under "external links," as a Grove subscription is required to read them anyway... In other words, just reference them... I wasn't sure about the preferred formatting for notes (despite looking around at the Wikipedia style guides), so I haven't changed anything...
