There are uncited statements in the article. Also, I think the article is bloated, with too much detail in the lead, post-2009 History, "El Clásico" section (under rivalries, which also has large paragraphs), and "Finances and ownership" where the information can be moved to "History". 2012-13 Season
[edit]Within the "Second Florentino Pérez era (2009–present)" sub-section of the History section in the article, it is mentioned (with regards to the 2012-13 season) that the "super cup turned out to be their [Real Madrid] only trophy of the season, despite being close to win them all". One could make a definite case for the Champions League as well as the Copa Del Rey, but La Liga this season literally had the biggest points gap (between a first and second team) in its entire 30-year 3-point era history.
Thus, saying "close to win them all" is a bit of a mischaracterization. ~2026-21631-64 (talk) 08:42, 8 April 2026 (UTC)
Bad facts or sources in introduction
[edit]In the introduction it says. "The club established itself as a major force in Spanish and European football during the 1950s and 60s, winning five consecutive and six overall European Cups. This success was replicated on the domestic front, with Madrid winning 12 league titles in 16 years. This team, which included Alfredo Di Stéfano, Ferenc Puskás, Paco Gento and Raymond Kopa is considered by some in the sport, to be the greatest of all time." it is then followed by 2 references but one only calls them the greatest club side of all time and the other doesn't even call them the greatest club team it merely puts them in the top 6.
