GFLOPs in Simplified Model B Changelog

[edit]

What is the source of the GFLOP values in the Simplified Model B Changelog table? I would suggest that this should be cited.

First sentence inaccuracy

[edit]

The first sentence, whilst probably technically correct, gives a misleading impression of the history of Foundation/Raspberry Pi. I provided a more accurate description that was rejected, and replaced by something less accurate. It is a problem worldwide that people think the Foundation designs and makes Raspberry Pi boards, and this is not helped by this first sentence. They do not do any R&D at all; all development (since 2012) has been done by Raspberry Pi Ltd (well, Trading in in there as well), which was owned by the Foundation until the IPO in 2024, when Ltd became a PLC (Foundation are still the major shareholderof Raspberry Pi Holdings PLC). During that time the Foundation had minimal input in to design and implementation of Pi products. Improving the first sentence to get across this will hopefully stop the continued conflation of new Raspberry Pi products and the Foundation. 2A00:1098:3142:1F:D3E:C9D6:816B:ABEA (talk) 13:25, 19 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

this edit right especially this part
To commercialize the product and support its growing demand, the Foundation established a commercial entity, now known as Raspberry Pi Holdings.
which you replaced with
To commercialize the product and support its growing demand, the Foundation established a commercial entity, Raspberry Pi (Trading) Ltd in 2012, which was floated in 2024 as Raspberry Pi Holdings, a public company that trades on the London Stock Exchange. Whilst Raspberry Pi PLC is now an independent company, the Raspberry Pi Foundation are a major shareholder.
first, i agree with @RickyCourtney that it is too detailed. if you think it is misleading, rewrite it in simple term or just delete the sentence.

can you give more source on that? especially this part They do not do any R&D at all; all development (since 2012) has been done by Raspberry Pi Ltd
for example source on [1] says "Raspberry Pi" but it is not clear if it is Ltd or foundation
source [2] is raspberry foundation, but they state their goal but not clear if they actually develop
source [3] say David Braben has created the prototype. in other part it also mention Braben has launched a UK-based charity called the Raspberry Pi Foundation for continued support of the device and its goals..

Vandalism in origins and launch

[edit]

Some joker has edited the date… “The Raspberry Pi Foundation was established in 1700 bc

… i can’t edit as my work PC goes via a blocked VPN IP address (sigh) and I don’t want to risk doing it via my phone browser Simon Fenney (talk) 12:07, 28 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Raspberry Pi Zero W in the tables

[edit]

I think the Zero W should have its own entry in the table because users will come to Wikipedia to find out more details about them and they will not find them in the table. Neuhaus (talk) 15:20, 1 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
