"Free" service is no longer offered
[edit]I have not edited the article yet, but I think it's important that we address this issue. Rapidshare does not offer an option for free cloud storage to any extent. New users are able to create an account, however their upload limit is 0GBs until they purchase a service package. I'll wait a few hours in case anyone else has something to say about this, and then I will be editing the article to reflect this.

Since the site got closed today, can the page be edited to say that? Thanks 189.25.215.136 (talk) 11:28, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
Not done: as you have not cited reliable sources to back up your request, without which no information should be added to, or changed in, any article. - Arjayay (talk) 12:26, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

Why is this website relevant, or interesting enough to make a Wikipedia article on?
[edit]I'm not even complaining, but I ask, as how this WAS THE NO. 1 WEBSITE IN THE WORLD, is rediculous, as well as slandar. It reads like it was an advert for the time, which is awkward, when it got legally shut down, not closed (am I not mistaken, that's what happened?). It doesn't even provide anything of use to talk about this one, and it's just pity, out the cries being of like the sort of, 'WAAAAAHHHHH, I WANT MY PIRACY, WAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!', and it reads just as cringy. I vote for that it should either be actually discussed about, or just delete it. Just why? I'm even getting tired of this. 2001:558:6032:0:2C31:FE94:7DC2:DACB (talk) 08:12, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
- It's notable because reliable sources discuss it. It was not the No 1 website, and the article does not say it was. I don't think you understand what slander is. Which bits read like an advert? I don't see any. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 10:10, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
- Alright, I do regret that I complained about this one. I think it was signifigant, in the boat of comparing it to MegaUpload, but, I still have a point. Don't talk down to me. Just because I couldn't spell the word, excuse you motho, I don't care what you think, since you seem to have no other interest but to seem to be all trigger-happy to boot me off the platform, and which it figures like this cancerous society doesn't do anything else but shoot first, then ask questions, just fine. What's the point, anymore? It doesn't mean I don't have a point. I mean the article does actually read like it is an advertisement. I don't see much factual statements on how this was a poor defenseless file sharing/hosting website/service. I can see that it was actually, and it was abused, but I can't help but wonder why it worked out the way it did. The conspiracy is at large. Nobody seems to actually discuss past its demise, the .de domain, and how that was connected. Now, I know how anybody from the 3rd world will always rip on, and ride off the popularity contest by making a fake version of a popular website, but this is rediculous. This one was trying to actually do almost everything to a tee, that it seemed it was crooked attempt at trying to keep the site on-going, no matter if the main domain gets shut down. I think the article needs well read proof to prove whether or not that's true. 2001:558:6032:0:2C31:FE94:7DC2:DACB (talk) 09:28, 14 August 2025 (UTC)
