[edit]

This page needs an overhaul -- there's some interestting info but little about the Abbey's most significant inmates (viz., Byrhtferth and Abbo) or about its development from its foundation until the Dissolution. I made some quick fixes, but someone who does ecclesiastical history might want to get at it!TomODonnell (talk) 17:03, 24 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Merge Ramsey Abbey Gatehouse into Ramsey Abbey

[edit]

It has been suggested that Ramsey Abbey Gatehouse be merged into Ramsey Abbey.

I disagree. Ramsey Abbey Gatehouse is a National Trust and, as such, deserves an article of its own, separate from the Ramsey Abbey article, which should discuss the Abbey on its own. The Abbey article should be rewritten to emphasise its existence as an abbey. Grstain | Talk 13:05, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

In fact, I have reorganised the article to emphasise the Abbey as an historical entitity. Grstain | Talk 13:07, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
As 100% of comments were against this merge, I have removed the tag from the Ramsey Abbey Gatehouse page. —Grstain | Talk 20:47, 5 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
