someone should get info on the legal issues that came with the infamous "domed stadium" debacle. there were several different locations that were considered when they decided to build Rich Stadium. --72.65.17.52 00:18, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Too many seats?

I know many people who have visited both Paul Brown Stadium (which I have visited) and this stadium and say that Paul Brown Stadium is much larger. Paul Brown Stadium has about five levels of seats while this stadium has barely three. So, how can this stadium have ten times more seats than Paul Brown Stadium? Not that it matters, I just want to make sure everything is accurate.

Concerts

There are a few other areas too, but the concert section particularly is rather contradictory of itself and extremely confusing to follow, with statements as "The last concerts held in the stadium were in 2001" being obviously refuted by later statements of both the Rolling Stones and One Direction concerts. Also how is the One Direction concert an indication that concerts will indeed return in the future, especially considering the first concert in 14 years was actually the one held months before? The whole section needs some help but I don't have the information or background to do so. →ClarkCT^Talk @ 00:04, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

Another example to refute the statement "The last concerts held in the stadium were in 2001", is that a June 4th, 2005 concert was preformed by Kim Mitchell for the Celebration of Champions, which was introducing brand new quarterback JP Losman.

New Era

Please wait until the name change is official (or at least announced, for heaven's sake) before changing the infobox or title of this article. While it's been announced that New Era purchased the naming rights, we don't know what the stadium's name will be. Powers ^T 00:41, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

Article title when new stadium opens

It's probably worth starting the discussion of what this article will be titled once the new one opens. I'd support a rename to Rich Stadium, as that was the name by which the stadium was known the longest. Keeping it as an awkwardly titled derivation of Highmark Stadium would be inappropriate. schetm (talk) 22:11, 29 October 2024 (UTC)

– With this stadium now permanently closed and destined for demolition, we must now determine the common name over the course of its history. Previous discussions have determined that the best title is not necessarily the name at the time of closure (SDCCU Stadium/San Diego Stadium is an example that comes to mind.) • Oppose for now (at least for the New Highmark Stadium page) because the new stadium has not yet officially been opened (which is when the name "Highmark Stadium" will officially transfer), if only to avoid a situation where a delay forces them to use the old stadium for part of the year (which is somewhat common). But I do support the eventual renaming of the old stadium as Ralph Wilson Stadium mainly because, and I don't know if Wikipedia has a preference for this in its Manual of Style but it is a preference of mine, that an unsponsored name, if one has been used for a substantial period of time, take precedence over a corporate sponsored name when talking about past stadiums. Closed Date

The Closed date for the Stadium should not be Jan 4th 2026. Although the stadium hosted it's final full scale event on Jan 4th 2026. It stayed open and fully functional until at least Jan 12th 2026. It was not until 11pm on Jan 11th 2026 that it became apparent the Bills would not have an opportunity to host an additional game there. Additionally the stadium remained open in some capacity as it hosted the press conference where Brandon Beane and Terry Pegula discussed the firing of Sean McDermott on Jan 21st 2026. ~2026-57340-9 (talk) 22:50, 26 January 2026 (UTC)

While I will agree with January 11 since yes, it became impossible for the Bills to host a game there, the date of closure doesn't always mean last day of operations, at least from my knowledge. Usually, it is the date of the final event held publicly or when it was closed to the public, which is indeed January 4. MarcusAbacus (talk) 03:16, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
