Rajaz in al-Khalil's system

[edit]

This article says the rajaz metre was not included in al-Khalil's system of classification of Arabic metres, but the article Arabic prosody says that it was. (It is given as no. 10.) The article Metre (poetry) agrees. So what is the truth? Until more information is forthcoming, I have deleted the sentence in question, which is:

It was not included in Al-Khalīl ibn Ahmad Al-Farahidi's near-definitive eighth-century catalogue of Arabic poetic metres.[1]

If it wasn't included in al-Khalil's system, those other two articles need emending. Kanjuzi (talk) 05:27, 1 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Probably a mistake on my part--thanks for noticing! I will check the sources when I have a moment, but thanks for correcting the page in the meantime! Alarichall (talk) 21:55, 1 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
