Railay Penisula
[edit]I'm not sure of the accuracy of this article. My understanding is that the penisula is called Phra-nanag and Railay is the town/beaches. Ashmoo 06:12, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Spelling

- If directly transliterated from Thai, yes, but common usage in English, including on signage and in such not just there but in Ao Nang and Krabi and beyond, is "Railay".Skookum1 (talk) 15:54, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

Tsunami
[edit]I added a citation tag to the statement that Railway wasn't much hit in the tsunami; from what I learned while living in Tonsai for a bit, what was there got wiped out, and it was in the aftermath that all the five-star resorts came in, as the old government leases to Thai were done away with and foreign money was allowed to "buy in" to get the place built back up again....one of my friends made in Tonsai, the owner of Sunset Bar, was swept out to sea 10 miles and had to swim back in, he was on East Railay Beach when it hit.....Tonsai wasn't hit, I think the tsunami came from East Railay and did wipe out all that is now expensive bungalow hotels.....Skookum1 (talk) 15:56, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
