First Catch your Hare
In the article it says 'The proverb "first catch your hare", with a similar meaning to "don't count your chickens before they're hatched," literally refers to the requirement to obtain a rabbit before making a rabbit pie or stew.' However any native speaker of English should be able to tell you that this isn't so. The rabbit and the hare are two totally different species - one native to Great Britain (the Hare) and one invasive although here for a very long time (the Rabbit), they happen to live similar lives and look alike but they are totally distinct species so that proverb 'first catch your hare' can't refer to the need to catch a rabbit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.219.231.1 (talk) 16:10, 1 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
