I agree that Newton is the unit from SI. However, the common practice in Soviet, Russian and Ukrainian rocket engine departments is to measure thrust in kgs and tons (similarly to American engine school, where it's pretty common to measure thrust in lbs). So, Newtons are strict as units of force, and nationally used units more precisely describe what characteristics the engine really has. Preceding unsigned comment added by Avmich (talkcontribs) 2007-08-28T19:10:19
