A successor was planned for 2007, that's relevant information, and the references shows this. What this successor is and why it's over due is not known so we can't elaborate on it.-- Henriok (talk) 08:57, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

I have removed that statement since I could not find a reference which clearly states that a successor was going to be released in 2007. I could only find a single mention of "next generation" on the far right side of a RAD750 processor roadmap chart in a reference from 2002 and it does not clearly distinguish whether it was planned for 2007 or at some point after 2007. --GrandDrake (talk) 05:59, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

No, IBM is neither designing it nor manufacturing it, and it's not the processor's name. BAE is doing this on license, and the PowerPC 750 was jointly developed by Motorola and IBM. –– Henriok (talk) 20:49, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

User:BerserkerBen points out RAD6000 should also be considered in this. I support his proposal to merge this content together into RAD series processors or RAD (microprocessor). We can have redirects for each member of the family but I don't think there's enough material to merit an individual article for each family member at this time. ~KvnG 15:44, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

I'm opposing a merging of the RADx articles (RAD6000, RAD750 and RAD5500), but I'm not opposing an article about BAE's RAD family of processors (BAE Radiation Hardened Computers, BAE RAD processors or something like that). Analog to Apple system on a chip as a umbrella to separate articles about the various members of the family. -- Henriok (talk) 10:08, 8 October 2014 (UTC)

If we made a BAE Radiation Hardened Computers we would need to fill it out by taking the information from the other 3 and putting it into one, might as well as simply turn them into redirects, for a RAD5500 article can't get passed the draft phase.BerserkerBen (talk) 00:00, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
