Fair use rationale for Image:NS logo.jpg

[edit]

Image:NS logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Comments

[edit]

Hi Icepinner, I am going to review this over the next few days as part of the October 2025 GAN backlog drive. I am quite busy so I expect to leave comments tomorrow or Friday (UK time). JuniperChill (talk) 16:19, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Ok, thanks! Icepinner 00:26, 2 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I don't see many changes necessary for this to be a GA. I have made a bold edits replacing "will" with "would" To help me, I am also looking at Talk:Redhill MRT station/GA1. --JuniperChill (talk) 08:26, 3 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
@JuniperChill: have addressed all points. Icepinner 23:23, 4 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Lead section

[edit]
  • taxi should be lowercase (infobox)
  • A labour dispute occurred between the contractor, Sumitomo Construction, and its construction workers - I'm a little confused. Is Sumitomo the contractor? Perhaps this should be reworded
  • Platform screen doors should be linked

History

[edit]
  • two bus stops were replaced by a new bus stop - reword to two bus stops were replaced by a new one to reduce redundancy
  • The station was installed with high-volume low-speed fans by the first quarter of 2013. - also should be added, seeing as the station received that alongside PSDs earlier.
  • The works were completed in August 2015 for Queenstown and Commonwealth, with both stations having two exits and elevators for those bridges. - Firstly, since Singapore was part of the British Empire, shouldn't it be lift instead of elevator? Second, to clarify, is it two exits and two lifts?
That's alright with me. If sources don't mention the number of lifts, its fine to not say the number, as per WP:TRUTH. JuniperChill (talk) 09:23, 4 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Removed then. Icepinner 23:23, 4 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Spotcheck

[edit]

Now I'm going to check eight sources according to this revision. This may take a while as I'm not used to reading physical newspapers and might not be able to use Ctrl+F. JuniperChill (talk) 19:43, 5 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

  • 3 - this one points to Redhill instead of Queenstown
    • Replaced link
  •  8
  •  24
  •  30
  •  32
  • 34 - "When it opened, it had the station number of W5" - source says W6
  • 44 - AGF, couldn't view as its sourced to a book
  •  47

Other criteria

[edit]

While I'm waiting for the nominator to do the above changes, I am going to review the other criteria. JuniperChill (talk) 12:06, 4 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

  • 3 -  Broad
  • 4 -  Neutral
  • 5 -  Stable - no edit wars or content disputes recently
  • 6 -  Media - all are relevant and tagged as usable in Wikipedia
