Is it really true that it was named for deposits of quartz?

In the source listed we can find it says "#So named for the geological formation of the hills," but i am not sure that means there are deposits of quarts? To find the part of the source that mentions Quartz Peak, scroll to the 3rd to last entry on the last page of the pdf. Mediumsizedmammal (talk) 04:02, 12 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Is the elevation wrong?
