Request to replace and expand the article with independent sources
[edit] | The user below has a request that an edit be made to Px3. That user has an actual or apparent conflict of interest. The requested edits backlog is very high. Please be extremely patient. There are currently 881 requests waiting for review. Please read the instructions for the parameters used by this template for accepting and declining them, and review the request below and make the edit if it is well sourced, neutral, and follows other Wikipedia guidelines and policies. Remember to set the |answered= parameter to "yes" when the request has been accepted, rejected or on hold awaiting user input. |
Conflict-of-interest disclosure: I received three Honourable Mentions from PX3 in 2015. I am therefore asking uninvolved editors to review this proposal rather than editing the article directly. I am not requesting that my name, photographs, or results be added.
Please replace the current article text with the following complete draft. It removes the weak personal/competition-directory citations, keeps the subject neutral, and adds independent institutional and media sources:
{{short description|International photography competition}}
The '''Prix de la Photographie, Paris''' ('''PX3''') is an international [[photography]] competition founded in 2007. It has professional, non-professional and student divisions. Selected work is exhibited in Paris and published in an annual book.<ref name="AFP2014">{{cite news |title=José Manuel López primé au « PX3 Prix de la Photographie Paris » pour son travail en Syrie avec l'AFP |url=https://www.afp.com/sites/default/files/cp_afp_px3_vf_0.pdf |publisher=Agence France-Presse |date=9 July 2014 |format=PDF |language=fr |access-date=15 August 2026}}</ref><ref name="Capture2022">{{cite web |title=Winners of the Prix de la Photographie, Paris (PX3) competition announced |url=https://www.capturemag.com.au/news/winners-of-the-prix-de-la-photographie-paris-px3-competition-announced |website=Capture |date=6 September 2022 |access-date=15 August 2026}}</ref>
==History and format==
Agence France-Presse reported in 2014 that the competition had been founded in 2007 and was judged by photography professionals. Some winning works from that edition were included in the PX3 annual book and began a touring exhibition in Paris.<ref name="AFP2014" />
A 2017 photography-industry study commissioned by the [[National Taiwan Museum]] listed PX3 among the principal photography awards outside Taiwan. The study described entry as open to self-nomination without nationality restrictions.<ref>{{cite report |title=攝影（藝術）產業調查暨發展趨勢研究 |trans-title=Photography (Art) Industry Survey and Development Trends Research |url=https://stat.moc.gov.tw/Research_Download.aspx?idno=1101 |author=Sturgeon Market Research Co. |publisher=National Taiwan Museum |date=25 January 2017 |pages=108–110 |format=PDF |language=zh-hant |access-date=15 August 2026}}</ref>
The 2020 competition received more than 5,000 entries from over 90 countries. Entries were evaluated in advertising, architecture, book, fine art, nature, portraiture, press and special categories across professional, non-professional and student divisions.<ref>{{cite web |title=Paris Photography Prize (PX3) winners announced |url=https://www.capturemag.com.au/news/paris-photography-prize-px3-winners-announced |website=Capture |date=20 October 2020 |access-date=15 August 2026}}</ref>
The principal overall awards are PX3 Photographer of the Year for professionals and PX3 Best New Talent for non-professional and student entrants. The competition also confers category awards, gold, silver and bronze prizes, and honourable mentions.<ref name="Capture2022" /><ref>{{cite web |title=About the Prize |url=https://px3.fr/prize/ |website=Prix de la Photographie, Paris |access-date=15 August 2026}}</ref>
