On the creation of a "Puquina languages" page.
[edit]Since Puquina and Kallawaya are different languages they could entail a small family. I will try to find sources on that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.144.221.123 (talk) 06:56, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
Request as to remove to "Puquina languages"
[edit]The article does not talk about, just, one language, but a putative family. The article, also, contains sources mentioning the extinct the existence of multiple languages, perhaps, related, under the term "Puquina", and one of the members is, also, called "Puquina". 5.54.226.161 (talk) 08:59, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
Question: Remove "extinct" status?
[edit]There are a lot of sources referring to this language as extinct, but unlike some other cases, the speakers who have been identified are in substantial quantity, and confirmed by multiple sources (see recent edits here). Okay if I change the top-line status and add population data to the infobox?
I realize that Puquina is sometimes mis-used to identify Uru-Chipaya people, but the bulk of the Puquina population in the census is from the place where a community is identified and few are from traditional Uru strongholds.
