I don't think the description of this species is accurate, particularly "it still had small hind flippers, and its front flippers had webbed toes... The shape of the bones in the tails suggests that it may have evolved tail flukes, like those of modern whales,"

Given that only the skull and some vertebra of this particular species were discovered, it seems a bit presumptive to speculate on the front or hind flippers or the tail.

If this Protocetidae is similar to the other genus in this family, it was semi-aquatic and would have moved on land with all of its limbs.

Actually, the links already cited on this page (at least the 2 journal articles - not sure about the book) provide evidence that these animals had more fully developed limbs than indicated by the article and the picture. They don't support the information being presented here. Rooples (talk) 04:34, 8 April 2017 (UTC)
