I know that J Hindley was absolutely heartbroken about the way that this horses career was mismanaged by the owners. He felt that he had an outstanding "Cup" horse who was forced to race over completely inadequate distances. I suppose I should have kept some of my old editions of the Sporting Chronicle to back this up but there you go. In an alternate timeline "Racket" went down with all guns blazing to Ardross in the 1982 Ascot Gold Cup, won the same race in 1983 and went on to become a top National Hunt stallion. Ah well...  Tigerboy1966  13:56, 25 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
