From what I know, pro- means "before" and lagus means "rabbit". So the genus name might translate as "before rabbits" or "primitive rabbits". I've added those bits to the main article. If I've translated the genus name wrong, you can replace that information with the correct translation. Scottishwildcat12 (talk) 15:18, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
