I thought this looked off.

Ought this be an article?

[edit]

What we have at this point is breaking news built around police press releases. There is no sign that this is going to be a lasting story. On sexual matters, there is a noted history of police claiming big busts that dissipate into a lack of convictions (notable with big sex worker rounds-ups). This one has some bizarre signs, like the number of victims and perpetrators being released together into a single number -- what, they can't tell which are victims and which are perps? -- and a claim of more people "safeguarded" than the number of victims and perps identified total. I think that to assume that this is going to have some significant lasting impact that is worthy of a stand-alone Wikipedia article is making a leap; this is just another set of arrests. -- Nat Gertler (talk) 14:38, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
