The NYT instead puts it in the context of Google's culture, and contrasts Google with other companies; should it go in Google or one of Google's child articles instead? We can probably take some content from Liz_Fong-Jones#Walkout_(2018), History_of_Google#2010s, Meredith_Whittaker#Activism, and Palantir_Technologies#Project_Maven_(since_2018). Deletion of Minab airstrike paragraph
[edit]My paragraph was deleted without comment. Please advise how I can improve it to add this information.
On February 28, 2026, during the initial phase of Operation Epic Fury, an American airstrike hit the Shajaratayyibah Girls' Elementary School in Minab (Khorramshahr Province), killing 165–180 people (mostly schoolgirls aged 7–12, as well as teachers and staff) and injuring about 95. The strike was likely carried out by mistake due to outdated intelligence near an IRGC Navy complex. Although the use of Claude AI in the Maven targeting system during the campaign in Iran has been confirmed by the media, the Pentagon has declined to comment on whether AI was used in the selection or assessment of this particular target, prompting international condemnation for a possible violation of humanitarian law. - It would be a good start to add some WP:Reliable Sources to this paragraph as citations. The reference tag at the end of the paragraph as its pasted here points to another Wikipedia article, but Wikipedia articles cannot be reliable sources for other Wikipedia articles, see WP:CIRCULAR. If there is a source in the 2026 Minab school airstrike article you linked to that would support your paragraph, feel free to use any of those sources as appropriate.

- 120 members of Congress have asked specifically about whether Maven was used to target the Minab school: “If artificial intelligence is used, is it subject to human review and at what point? Was artificial intelligence, including the use of Maven Smart System, used to identify the Shajareh Tayyebeh school as a target? If so, did a human verify the accuracy of this target?”
