The game is a major part of a Chinese film

[edit]

This game is heavily featured in the 2001 Chinese film My Schoolmate the Barbarian (Wo de Ye man Tong xue), and footage of the game is interspersed with the film's final fight scene, as one of the protagonists learns to fight from the game, and one of their friends shouts button combinations for them to enact in real life during the fight. I thought this was worth noting in the article, but was unable to find any reliable sources that mentioned this, but there may be something in Chinese-language sources that I wouldn't be privy to.
