What the hell is with the scoring section?
[edit]Its full of spelling errors and unless I'm mistaken, it's TOTALLY WRONG. There is no deduction for individual points per 2 punches. One boxer gets 10 and the one that didn't fight as well in a round gets 9, unless he was knocked down in which case he gets 8.
See this article, it should just be used verbatim, although it's probably copyrighted. http://www.straightdope.com/mailbag/mbox.html
- I replaced the totally wrong parts of the scoring section. There are still some parts that could use better writing. Djcastel 15:56, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
The Figure caption...
[edit]...current Pound for Pound Boxer Román González is probably wrong. There is no such thing as a pound for pound boxer, I only heard of pound for pound rankings. Can an expert edit the caption, please? --Herbmuell (talk) 09:32, 23 July 2016 (UTC)
Citations
[edit]There are sections that list off dates and events with no attribution. Does anyone object to adding the insufficient citations template?
Also, might it be better as part of the boxing page instead of on its own? Ryanmsfinley (talk) 22:11, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

Page Image
[edit]is it just me, or is the page image kinda terrible? I feel like the Marquess should be moved down to, say, the history section, and the page image be replaced by something more appropriate (in the style of the Amateur Boxing Page). Thoughts? Daniel P Botes (talk) 15:00, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
Maintenance templates
[edit]I have added inline citations to several previously unsourced parts of the article, including the lead, regulation/licensing, championship recognition, and rules/scoring sections. I also added non-U.S. regulatory examples, including the United Kingdom, Japan, the Philippines, and the European Boxing Union.
I think the inline-citations maintenance template may now be outdated, though the worldwide-view template may still need further work because the historical examples remain weighted toward the United States and the United Kingdom. Unless there are objections, I propose removing the inline-citations template while leaving the worldwide-view template in place for now (or not). The article needs work.
