Procrustes

naming (x,y); (u,v); (w,v)??
[edit]I am a little confused (but not an expert). In computing the angle betweeen objects the text says "let the points of these be ((x_1,y_1),\ldots), ((w_1,z_1),\ldots)" but in the final formula for the angle (u,v) is used. Seems more logical to start with objects (u,v) and (w,z), call the rotatated version of one of these ((x,y) etc.

Merging with Generalized Procrustes analysis (GPA)
[edit]As there are many non-GPA procrustes analyses, like Planar Procrustes Analysis or Ordinary Procrustes Analysis, and because GPA is often used for purposes other than shape testing [it was designed for Free Choice Profiling, as in psychometrics and sensometrics, etc] I would not merge these sections. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.128.243.8 (talk) 19:48, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- I believe this article should discuss all kinds of Procrustes analysis. Since the article about GPA is almost a stub, it should be merged with this one, taking into account the information given in the previous anonymous posting. Paolo.dL (talk) 09:15, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
