Christ Church Cathedral and St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin

[edit]

I'm not happy with the use of the term "occupied" in the phrase "occupied by the Church of Ireland". It has undertones of aggression which might have been marginally true at the time of the reformation but sound extreme in the context of recent world history. Might I suggest "taken into the new (Anglican) Church of Ireland at the Reformation"" or "taken over by the new (Anglican) Church of Ireland at the Reformation"?
