I'm a little confused about the letter-preface of the french version. In the article it says the letter was addressed to Queen Christina of Sweden. It is strange then that I have yet another letter-preface which is addressed to the translator and starts, "Sir, The version of my principles...". The preface I have is an English translation of the letter included in Penguin published "Discourse on Method and the Meditations". --Chris 21:48, 19 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

The article says that the original latin version was dedicated to Princess Elisabeth of Bohemia, and the french translation had a letter addressed by Descartes to the translator, in which he said that it could be used as a preface, if the translator considered it convinient, as he did. It should be normal that the English versions contain both "prefaces"--Auró (talk) 22:28, 16 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
