Advantages section

[edit]

I made some edits to improve clarity in this section. Because I have published research in this area, I may have a conflict of interest. I’m noting this here and welcome independent editors to review, revise, or revert my changes if appropriate. 2600:4040:500A:9400:6516:626D:E7F7:9771 (talk) 03:45, 20 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Development Process section

[edit]

This section could use updates. Only editing systems through 1-5 are listed, but there are newer systems (6, 7, and others). Also there are newer systems to inhibit DNA repair like MMR, chemicals to change DNA repair, and systems with added DNA repair factors. Plus there are edit strategies that add silent mutations to naturally evade MMR and increase efficiency. I have published in this area and therefore have potential conflicts, so I suggest others look into these newer prime editing systems to expand this section. 2600:4040:500A:9400:6516:626D:E7F7:9771 (talk) 06:30, 20 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Tackling this rn. I decided to separate things into nucleoprotein improvements (changes to the editor itself) and editing strategies (new ways to use the editor with or without extra components) since if they were combined, the section would be wayyy too long (thx lack of pictures). Might look a bit messy since PE3, 4, and 5 aren't improvements to the protein architecture, but I wanted to be consistent
Another thing: Unless you're a sentient prime editor (doubtful), having published in this area isn't a conflict of interest. If anything, it makes you more qualified due to familiarity with the literature RenaMoonn (talk) 23:48, 10 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
