I noticed a lot of the citations are redirecting into Chinese language homepages rather than the original text cited. Additionally many of the quoted citations seem to be directly translated from Chinese to English and require significant clean-up (and potentially complete changes, as I'm not sure if these are in line with our copyright policies). I'm hoping a more experienced editor can take over this job, as I think this will require advanced fluency in both Chinese and English languages. Mintopop (talk) 17:41, 22 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

This article needs a lot of work. There aren't enough sources, and the sources that do exist are largely not reliable (e.g., several are sites with user-generated content like Weibo and Douban). I discovered today that the source cited for Priest's date of birth did not actually contain that information, which makes me wonder if there are other claims in the article that aren't supported by sources. There's also a problem with excessive detail; I can't find another biography article for a popular author writing in another language that lists all individual non-English translations of their work, for example. It's frustrating because tackling these problems will require removing a large amount of the information in the article, but Priest is notable by Wikipedia standards - this article just doesn't currently do a great job of demonstrating that.

I tried to tackle part of the problem recently by splitting the list of works off into Priest bibliography and removing uncited trivia from that list, but there's still a lot of work to do, if anyone's up for helping. MidnightAlarm (talk) 11:53, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Per WP:BLPPRIVACY, I've removed the claims about Priest's education from the "Life" section and from the infobox because the sources were unreliable:

Douban is WP:USERGENERATED (see this discussion on the RS noticeboard).
From Google translate, the kknews.cc source indicates that at least some of the information in it was copied from Baidu Baike, and Baidu Baike is a deprecated source.

Removed "foreign publications" section

The "Foreign publications (translations)" section was largely uncited and I couldn't find a single other example of an author biography article that listed every individual non-English translation, so I've removed it from the article. For posterity, and in case it's helpful to future editors, here is what the section contained:
