Gay man flag
[edit]Most of these flags here are not really mainstream, you wouldn't be able to show it to someone on the street and have them recognize it besides like, the rainbow one. I don't think the fact that it is originated in social media should be a point against it, as the lesbian one also was. I don't think including the most used flag for gay men, a huge part of the LGBT community, is "indiscriminate archiving of all flags".

I could also find many many examples of it being used on social media, but I was told that was irrelevant to adding things here... When imo it really shouldn't. The way LGBT youth expresses themselves absolutely matters, and the fact that such being done in social media is considered not valid is, legimately saddening to me. And this is a website that archives plenty of things related to the internet.
It might seem like I'm just someone randomly deciding to put this nonsense here, but there's the fact that, a version of the file was originally uploaded here back in 2019, it was included in another article before I even tried putting it in pages myself, after the revert of my original one on LGBT symbols someone else(that isn't me, or the original uploader, or the one who added it to the gay men page) added it back, so clearly this is something that a considerable amount of people think deserve to be here and not just some random whim. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wonkakun (talk • contribs) 7:41, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
Polyamory and leather flag
[edit]Strong remove - The polyamory and leather flags should be removed since it’s not inherently LGBTQIA. Yes they have history but it’s not inherent. Also, hypothetically if polyamory would be included in the community then other forms of non monogamy would be too when non monogamy in general has been part of religions and can be heteronormative like in bro culture polyamory is seen as heteronormative. Yes, leather fetishes do have history with gay men but that doesn’t make it inherently LGBTQIA. Christianity has history with LGBTQIA people but that doesn’t make it part of the community. I do think though that the leather fetish articles should be part of LGBTQ studies here on Wikipedia since they do have historical connections. This link is a psychology website and it says there’s no relationship between polyamory and LGBTQIA. DarknessGoth777 (talk) 05:50, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
- IMO, LGBTQ represents GSRM, Gender, Sexual, and Racial Minorities. Polyamory fits that definition. While there is no relationship between polyamory and sexual orientation, as you said, there is an LGBTQ studies relationship between them. Same goes for leather fetishes. Both of these groups are minorities which worked together for their social acceptance and legal rights.
- The position I take and arguments I make could be extended further to include people of color, though that is very United States specific. The arguments you take, I feel, could also be used to make the case for not including trans and trans adjacent flags. The key distinction here, I'd say, is that Christianity (and many other religions), while having a deep history with LGBTQ studies, is strictly not a minority, where their history is relevant. - Of note though: I do have a conflict of interest here, since, I myself am not exactly monogamous, though I also do not consider myself polyamorous. I have no preference on that dimension, rather, respecting whatever preferences my partner may have.

Gay section
[edit]Since the lesbian section brings a gallery of multiple flags, shouldn't the gay men section have one too? Maybe the others were just proposals or more known regionally, but at least 3 could be there (without repeating rainbows specifically). I'd do it boldly but I wanted to know if others oppose. Especially considering that many sources are self-published or primary on the subject, but there are other secondary RS covering it. Abesca (talk) 04:07, 15 March 2026 (UTC)
Transfeminine flag
[edit]A TA tried to add the transfeminine flag to the gallery not too long ago. I reverted the edit since it wasn't formatted properly and said in my edit summary that I'd look into adding it appropriately. I've also seen the CTOP banner as well as the invisible message in the editing window about making sure sources are cited with an addition. I'm personally having trouble finding adequate sources, even in looking at the sources cited for other flags, that focus specifically on transfeminine pride and the associated flag. I'll keep looking when I can, but I thought adding a discussion topic here wouldn't hurt in case other editors are able to help with this. Pikkupapupata 💌 🌷 03:31, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- may be usable, but overall coverage about the flag seems basically nonexistant which may indicate that the flag isn't representative, it certainly doesn't seem universally adopted or agreed upon. And that's only one flag, I've seen four others also referred to as transfeminine flags (for example the one flag on commons is of a different design). Some stronger sourcing will be needed to disambiguate things and satisfy WP:ASPECT. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 05:52, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- That's a good start! Definitely not enough for inclusion yet, but I haven't seen that source.
- There is also this flag on Commons, but yeah, stronger sourcing is needed to support any version being added.

- The flag is used quite often, and recognized by many trans folk! It's most prominent on VRChat, and related, you can also see it on the VRC Trans Academy Discord server, as it's a symbol next to anyone with the transfeminine role. Lastly, it's on the website pronouns.page. Overall I think that it would be quite valid to add this flag here, especially since the Transmasculine and Femboy flags are listed. - I believe you, but we need supporting reliable sources. Personal experience and discord servers aren't exactly encyclopedic. Pronouns.page is more promising but appears to be partially user generated, the transfeminine page lists two flags (making three designs linked so far in this discussion!), and they self-admittedly aren't a very authoritative source for flag info as seen here. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 23:12, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
Jewish Pride Flag
[edit]This article describes the Star of David pride flag as the Israeli pride flag. While recognizing that it is popular in Israel (as noted in the image upload description), it is actually better understood as a Jewish pride flag. In contrast, there is a Israeli specific pride flag with a white background and rainbow stripes that emulate that country's flag. Therefore, the Star of David flag in this article should be moved to the "other flags" section and labelled as the Jewish pride flag. OiYoiYoink (talk) 04:49, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
