    [edit]

Citation needed for the following, as well as a possible rewording due to misleading wording currently.

Under the section "Months of the Year":
    Under the section "Canada:"
    The following is written:

"In Canada, rather than Pride Month, celebrations are held from June to September in what is known as Pride Season."

Reason for Citation request as well as rewording request: It is not that Pride month is replaced by Pride season, and I do not believe that it is known by the average person as Pride season (from my knowledge as a LGBT Canadian, I have never heard anyone speak about Pride season, but I know of, and have heard of Pride month).
Although a quick search shows that Canada does have Pride season. Pride season includes Pride month (as not every province celebrates at the same time) and it includes any pride-related events happening in the summer.)
Most likely, Pride season is the government's way of including all the provinces and territories, as they have different times for Pride month and/or Pride week.

A possible rewording could be: In Canada, due to the provinces and territories having different times for their Pride events, the Canadian Government has Pride season, which happens from June to September. Within this time, Pride Month is celebrated, as well as Public Service Pride Week, and other Pride events.[1]

Partly done: I agree that the sentence in question is misleading, as, according to the Canadian Government, "Pride Season is a term that refers to the wide range of Pride events that take place over the summer."[2]. But saying "[...] due to the provinces and territories having different times for their Pride events" would be original research, because that's just a speculation. I propose the following:

In Canada, Pride Month is celebrated in June as part of the Pride Season, which happens from June to September. Other events in Pride Season include Public Service Pride Week, which is celebrated in the third week of August.[3]

I will implement the above (after posting this). Is the new text OK to you? Alpha Beta Delta Lambda (talk) 22:09, 5 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
    Agreed completely,
I thought I saw in places that there were areas that did different times for pride month and thus included that wording, but looking now for a citation I cant find it for pride month, just events. (So I probably just mistook the events to be when they did pride month and thus added that)
    Thank you for that catch.
That text is perfect thank you very much!
