spelling

[edit]

It appears that there is a problem with the spelling. According to the old rules, it was called "Preßstoff" (note the specific s). This ß can be transcribed as "ss". Formerly, three consecutive s (Press + Stoff) were to be avoided, i.e. "Presstoff" would have been more or less correct (though Preßstoff would be correct), but now the spelling rules have been changed, so that it would today be Pressstoff with triple s. I therefore added alternative spellings. Thyl Engelhardt213.70.217.172 (talk) 06:57, 12 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Presstoff vs Kirza

[edit]

Is there any difference between Presstof vs Kirza? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirza 2601:600:8B80:3BF0:5898:5650:423:817F (talk) 17:07, 9 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

They're completely different materials. Kirza is canvas-based and Pressstoff is paper-based. 2.38.64.22 (talk) 18:52, 21 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
