Dead citation replacement (COI disclosure)
[edit]One of the citations in this article is a dead link: the PRWeb release at prweb.com/releases/2009/09/prweb2815314.htm, supporting the sentence about editors of online newsletters lacking the staff to convert press release prose into print-ready copy.
I'd like to propose replacing the dead URL with a live source supporting the same claim: https://pressfront.co/why-outlets-republish-press-releases.html , an explainer on the information-subsidy / churnalism dynamic, sourced to Gandy (1982), the Cardiff University study reported in Davies' Flat Earth News (2008), and the Columbia Journalism Review.
Disclosure: I am affiliated with Pressfront, the site I'm proposing. Per WP:COI I'm raising this on Talk rather than editing the article directly, and I'll leave the decision to an uninvolved editor. If a non-commercial source is preferred for this claim, the underlying primary sources (Gandy; the Cardiff study; CJR) would serve equally well and I'd support citing those instead.
