While I can find references to 'oldest well' there is never an actual site for the oldest well or even wells on Cyprus. Why wells when springs were abundant? Why round houses and round wells? How deep were they? By what method did they make stone vessels? The ancient Egyptians had stone vessels but their method of make is unknown.

I had no idea springs were abundant altho the animals would indicate that. I also would like more in depth information. Also strange that they made stone figures that would have no value elsewhere. The copper was not exploited until much later. The stone figure is a woman holding a baby in her left arm, so this supports the cult of the "Lady" of the Cretans. That these early beginnings focused on women and reproduction degraded rapidly as the environmental upsets settled down is indicated by a wall made of fragments of a tablet protecting women's inheritence rights in an arena in the hills of Crete.Reply
