At over 14,000 words, WP:TOOBIG recommends summarising, splitting and removing article prose. There are also some uncited statements, particularily in the "Home video" section. Z1720 (talk) 19:16, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
Hello, anybody out here who know if this film would fit in the documentary film section? Thank you so much for your time. Lotje (talk) 05:57, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
- Please can you confirm which "The Spy" you are refering to? Pinkpuppies2310 (talk) 20:38, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Pinkpuppies2310: I meant the one which I am referring to. Cheers. Lotje (talk) 13:59, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
"Wall Street" movie
[edit]Currently, a quote from a what is described as a "1985 review" talks about a movie from 1933 "going a lot further than more recent efforts such as Wall Street" in critiquing capitalism. This Wall Street is linked to the 1929 film of that name, but this is not "more recent" than 1933. On the other hand, if this review is from 1985, the 1987 film would not have been released yet. Can somebody verify which movie this quote is actually talking about, and/or better yet, where the confusion originates? Thank you. Cheers, 128.119.202.174 (talk) 05:49, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
Article is Too Long
[edit]The current version of this article would benfit from being more concise and shorter. It is difficult to navigate due to the length and extent of some sections. Please respond if you agree/disagree Donebuddies2404 (talk) 20:29, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hello, I disagree I think the article holds valuable information, which sections do you feel are unecassary? Thank you :) Pinkpuppies2310 (talk) 20:36, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
- A casual look reveals that lot of the content of this page is duplicated here - Hays Code. Would this page not be better utilised to discuss pre-code Hollywood itself, rather than the creation, religion, politics and consequences of a censorship movement better described elsewhere? Or, is the argument that this era of Hollywood only existed as a counter to a censorship movement? I don't see this holds water.
- "Origins", "Beginning of Code era", "Effects" and "After" all feel out of place here for this reason. Jszx (talk) 14:42, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
Introduction photo
[edit]The second photo from the top of the article is from the 1938 film Angels with Dirty Faces, not The Public Enemy from 1931. It has been incorrectly named. The photo is from the scene near the end of the movie where Rocky is arrested after a shootout with police forces; no such scene exists in The Public Enemy.
However, there are sources that correctly identify this. For example:
