Peer Review and Promotion

[edit]

This article has been rated Start-Class for years, but in 2016 it has been significantly improved with many new references and much greater depth. It would appear to be nearly ready for promotion. Peer review and assessment for upgrading were requested on Oct. 16, 2016. PhaseAcer (talk) 20:05, 19 November 2016 (UTC) Hi! I think that this article should be promoted, though the categories really should be split up a bit. Qwerty number1 (talk) 13:13, 26 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Also, please add something on conservation.Qwerty number1 (talk) 16:42, 27 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Prairie-Peregrine-Hierofalcon

[edit]

The Prairie falcon is closer to the Peregrine than to the Hierofalcons, but the Peregrine is closer to the Hierofalcons than to the Prairie falcon.89.181.77.45 (talk) 13:37, 22 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Could someone look into incorporating some of the links into the article or trimming the section to three or

possibly four.

There are six entries in the "External links". Three seems to be an acceptable number and of course, everyone has their favorite to add for four. The problem is that none is needed for article promotion and the section has a growth hormone malfunction. Reasoning for trimming can include:
  • ELpoints #3) states: Links in the "External links" section should be kept to a minimum. A lack of external links or a small number of external links is not a reason to add external links.
  • LINKFARM states: There is nothing wrong with adding one or more useful content-relevant links to the external links section of an article; however, excessive lists can dwarf articles and detract from the purpose of Wikipedia. On articles about topics with many fansites, for example, including a link to one major fansite may be appropriate.
  • ELMIN: Minimize the number of links. --
  • ELCITE (not applicable in many cases): Do not use {{cite web}} or other citation templates in the External links section. Citation templates are permitted in the Further reading section.
  • WP:ELBURDEN: Disputed links should be excluded by default unless and until there is a consensus to include them. -- Otr500 (talk) 03:03, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
