Merging Prairie Music Department into this article

- I agree. Unless there are a number of notable accomplishments (e.g., multiple national honors and well-known alumni) or the program is renowned enough on more than a local basis, then it can be effectively summarized in this article. [[Briguy52748 (talk) 18:57, 28 April 2010 (UTC)]]
- I agree that the Prairie Music Department might be well known in Iowa, but what about meeting the other questions I've posed (multiple national honors and well-known alumni)? And can you find reliable sources to prove Prairie's reputation, that they are indeed well-known in Iowa, its instructors "very distinct" and "well-praised"? Look, I'm a strong supporter of another music and athletic program — that of North Scott High School's in Eldridge, Iowa — but that doesn't mean that I'd expect a complete article about their extra-curricular accomplishments when it can effectively be summarized within the confines of the high school article (and quite honestly, I'd request an afd or a merger if I were to come across such an article under WP:NOT). Same goes for any other high school in Iowa, and the United States ... and I'm sure even the most avid boosters of a particular high school, understanding the purpose of Wikipedia, would agree. Unless the accomplishments are particularly notable on at least a national level, I say merge the Prairie Music Department article. [[Briguy52748 (talk) 19:20, 12 May 2010 (UTC)]]
I, for one, believe that the Prairie Music Department deserves a page to itself. We are talking about a department with hundreds of students involved, not just in Concert Bands and Choirs, but Show Choirs, Jazz Bands, and a Marching Band. The Concert Hall of Prairie is used by professional orchestras for concerts. I created the Prairie Music Department page, and I agree. If there are no objections, I'll finish the merger in a few days.
