history of a past sprinter

[edit]

It is only now that I am finding out that my father GEORGE ERNEST WHITE Has a history in athletics, He died when I was very young, 1955 and his past life has been unknown to me other than snipits. In his obitury which I have recently found says that he ran at Powderhall. He was assistant trainer for Carlisle united football team in 1932 and that he had many handycaps to his belt. The obitury also states that he won the Boston cup in USA.in 1914 If there is anyone who could shed a little light on how I may find out a bit more about his athletic career or even just point me in the right direction I would be most greatful. With kindest regards Mary White Sat; March 21 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.44.148.155 (talk) 21:01, 21 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
