[edit]Is the "Iberia" of ibericum Caucasian Iberia, which would seem to be part of its range, according to the article? If so, there was perhaps no intention to link it to the Iberian peninsula on the part of its namer, as the article implies.--Wetman (talk) 15:51, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sure that's true, but the fact is that most people would naïvely think of Spain and Portugal, since almost every other taxon with the epithet ibericum is from there. I would not have included that titbit if Neil Cumberlidge had not explicitly stated that "the name might imply that P. ibericum occurs in the Iberian Peninsula". --Stemonitis (talk) 16:09, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

- It would be if it were sourced. At the moment, it's educated guesswork on our parts. Once there's a reliable source for it, it's fine. Until then, it's not. --Stemonitis (talk) 06:07, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
