Pot pie va other pies
[edit]What exactly makes something a pot pie as opposed to just a meat pie or savory pie? Duckduckgoop (talk) 04:39, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
- No pastry underneath? A dish is the base and sides and pastry is used for the lid only? GraemeLeggett (talk) 19:06, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- American jargon? While the article claims this is British, I've never heard anyone in this country ever call this a pot pie.
- By default I think Americans saying pie generally mean a fruit pie. Nickpheas (talk) 21:57, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- Its not an American term for a meat pie - i have added the north American def and link to a pie supplier who explains the difference Davidstewartharvey (talk) 13:58, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
