Has anyone else been to Positano? I was there a few years ago and it was beautifull and full of interesting things. I'll work on adding some as I have time, but it would be great to have others add as well. solaro 19:54, 28 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Historical Problem

[edit]

"Positano was a prosperous port of the Amalfi Republic in the 16th and 17th centuries."

Was there still an Amalfi Republic (as opposed to a duchy or something) in the 16th and 17th centuries??

Well the dukes were "Dukes of the Republic" :-) but you're right, by then it would have been part of Naples - I don't think the Papal States ever quite got down that far. I'll edit it out. FlagSteward (talk) 11:05, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I am planning on adding some facts into the history and transportation sections. Also, I want to add a picture of the Santa Maria church and a little information on the Maria Grande beach to the main sights section. Positano22 (talk) 15:16, 26 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
