Contested proposed deletion

[edit]

@Barry Wom: I am contesting your proposed deletion of this article. While it might have been created by a sockpuppet of blocked user who has a fixation on Carlos Lehder, I am not certain this subject is non-notable. This article has several cited sources, including one in English that mentions the statue of John Lennon. Even Encyclopedia Britannica mentions this in its biography about Lehder, but Wikipedia's does not. There are other English sources that mention this, too.,,. The sources in Spanish provide more details and explain the statue was mounted on a plinth in front of the hotel, and that the hotel was Lehder's way of paying homage to both his father and one of his favourite musicians. As a minimum, this article should be merged with Carlos Lehder's biography, if it is not kept. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 20:44, 4 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

That's fine; I won't contest this further. The article could really use some copyediting though. Barry Wom (talk) 11:30, 7 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Barry Wom: Yes, it does need a lot of editing, which is why I ranked as Start class and of low importance. However, having a badly written article is a problem that deletion does not solve as deletion is not a clean-up process, copyediting is. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 20:07, 7 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
