What genre is this?

Is this a horror movie or a drama? It's listed as "drama" on IMDB, but the poster and plot description strongly suggest a horror movie. I don't know, I haven't seen it, but "jidaigeki" is rather vague as a genre description. SpectrumDT 11:11, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Not a horror movie, despite the supernatural elements. I would probably call it a supernatural thriller, but if that is not a category, then drama is close enough. Z Wylld 17:32, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

"Hosokawa" vs "Horikawa"

This article switches continually between these two versions of the daimyo's name. This is confusing. Hell_Screen seems to indicate "Horikawa" is correct, but presumably someone could figure out for sure. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.128.122.44 (talk) 19:48, 7 October 2015 (UTC)

"Hosokawa" was likely a poor remembering of the subtitles, as it dates back to my original draft of the article, where it was used consistently, but is definitely wrong. Describing him as a "daimyo" is also wrong. My understanding of not only Japanese history but even the Japanese language was extremely poor in my eighteenth year. Poem

"Horikawa"'s poem about an hour in, この世をば我が世とぞ思ふ望月の欠けたることもなしと思へば, was apparently written by the historical Fujiwara no Michinaga. It might be worth tracking down a reliable source that discusses this poem's presence in the film. Hijiri 88 (聖やや) 13:59, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
