Talk:Portable collision avoidance system

No references to external websites have been mentioned and only the company to invent the technology has been mentioned. The term "PCAS" is growing in popularity and is used along with "TCAS" to differentiate active and passive systems to other aircraft and air traffic control. While the term "PCAS" originated with the company it is becoming a common term for a less expensive, portable TCAS-like system. TCAS is more of a commercially used term whereas PCAS is used more often in general aviation (smaller, private aircraft for example).

It's probably less of a conflict these days as the company mentioned is no longer in business. Someone who knows more of the history than I do should edit the article to reflect that. Altaphon (talk) 08:07, 18 June 2014 (UTC)

PCAS has ceased to exist because no company is actually producing up to date units. It's unlikely someone will produce units, because comparable and exacter information can be given from the 107 FAA radar stations using mode S transponder equipment. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.83.27.242 (talk) 15:44, 13 January 2018 (UTC)
