I.e. the last Bishop of Rome when Rome was still part of the Roman Empire. Is that worth mentioning? That seems like a big enough deal to add. I don't know of any sources off the top of my head, but a google search for "How the fall of western roman empire affected papacy" would probably bring up a few results.
