The Last Days of Pompeii

[edit]

for addition to the popular culture section...

Edward Bulwer-Lytton wrote a novel, "The Last Days of Pompeii".

John Philip Sousa composed a concert suite inspired by the Bulwer-Lytton novel, with the same title. 71.128.242.202 (talk) 19:24, 27 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

New Eruption date for Mount Vesuvius

[edit]

There's been more recent academic debate and theorizing over Mount Vesuvius actually erupting in October that is widely supported by food and graffiti found in the ruins, I was wondering if there could be a section added over this debate and more recent discoveries regarding it. 2603:8080:2200:6558:B4DF:62CB:67D:B245 (talk) 04:01, 22 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Modern Archaeology Section - "Dining Hall"

[edit]

I just saw this sentence in the Modern Archaeology section.

"The hall, measuring 15 by 6 meters, was located in a house on Via di Nola—one of the main city streets in the famous Regio IX area."

I have a feeling that the wrong link has been inserted there. Regio IX does appear to be an area in Pompeii, but the hyperlink currently goes to a place in Rome (the city). Could it be removed? Sorry if I'm incorrect ~2025-37006-57 (talk) 01:34, 30 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

I agree and have removed the link. Thanks for noting the situation. —ADavidB 03:16, 30 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
