http://www.bartleby.com/65/po/pompano.html says about 200 species ?? Sullevon 16:31, 25 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Huh?

[edit]

This article states: "One species is also known as the permit, and two United States Navy submarines are named after it." As the two weren't in service at the same time and neither are currently in service, perhaps "are named" should read "have been named." Of course, there have been a couple USS Jacks (apparently another name for these type of fishes) and a couple USS Pampanos as well. Maybe they should be mentioned too?
