ideas and issues on fixing this article
[edit]I realise now much of the results section is probably needless and can be merged with the Polysynody section but will do this later cuz im tired rn. please keep in mind that the note that contained Meyer's view is from Ellis's 1988 "Boulainvilliers and the French Monarchy" and i cannot check the citation myself because its french but instead included Elis's whole quote on Meyer's interpretation. i wasnt able to add the refernce to the note itself so having added together alongside my edit summary will make this clear AssanEcho (talk) 21:29, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- ive ran into a contradiction with two sources, Ellis's book has in p14 of the introduction that "There will be nothing here on the Polysynody [...] because Boulainvilliers had nothing to say about it." while Collin's great nation p40 states "Boulainvilliers went further, urging Orléans to use the councils as the first step in a more general move to shift power back to the feudal nobility, who should be primed to dominate a revived Estates General." I dont know much about the Boulainvillier so ill see if any of the other sources have anything to say on him or perhaps some more modern books and then check out the french language article on him and maybe ask WP:France AssanEcho (talk) 20:03, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
