[edit]I Currently have Polymorphic Light Eruption...and when i am exposed to the sun for around 1 hour i get a rash that feels like someone is either stabbing my skin or biting me where the rash is...it is extremly painful and causes me to stay in the shade when i go outside.
Clarification needed
[edit]Is this article about two different conditions, or only one? If it's about two, does a particular acronym (PLE vs. PMLE) go with each, or are those interchangeable? article needs improvement
[edit]The article does not sufficiently acknowledge severe cases of pmle. For those of us with year-round cases who get eruptions that take 2weeks to heal (so long as no further exposure occurs)... For those of us who get our energy zapped by exposure to sunshine in addition to searing pain in the skin and the terrific itch of the eruptions... this article represents a conflict to us getting recognition and support about our serious need to stay protected from exposure to sunshine. Before my doctor explained to me that I must stay totally away from sunshine, I suffered skin failure because of repeat exposures while I tried sunscreen after the next and those special clothings and window films.
I've been living with severe pmle since 2004, and I urge you to do more research on this topic and better represent the cases where no sunscreen or special clothing adequately protects. Also, please check those facts you list about UV because I've become aware that some of us have reactions to other aspects of the sunshine. Crosby7 (talk) 18:35, 3 April 2011 (UTC)crosby
Nomenclature
[edit]Previously better known as Polymorphic light eruption but increasingly called polymorphous light eruption. Same thing and abbreviation between PMLE and PLE appear interchangeable. Whispyhistory (talk) 17:40, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
